Smart Cruise Ship Video-Interactive System Solution: Overall Advantages
Schematic Diagram
Honghui Zhitong's ‘Hui Shi’ Smart Cruise Video Interaction System is a platform compliant with China Telecom's IPTV 3.0 industry standards, delivering video and other information content over IP networks. It provides an end-to-end IPTV solution encompassing encoders, digital receivers, IPTV streaming media servers, IPTV middleware, content delivery networks, and the terminal ‘Hui Shi Tong’ intelligent interactive controller. This enables service providers to integrate, implement and manage high-quality video services more rapidly and efficiently, delivering them to end-users to create an entirely new service experience.
Smart Cruise Ship Video Interactive System
Interaction between the network, front-end devices, and the ‘HuiShitong’ intelligent interactive controller, thereby ensuring the provision, management, and distribution of interactive video services.
High-speed IP network
The high-speed broadband network required for transmitting IP traffic for digital content distribution can utilise the cruise ship's existing local area network or a newly deployed local area network, without necessitating the additional deployment of a cable television coaxial network.
End-user equipment
The ‘HuiShitong’ smart interactive controller and television set are designed for experiencing interactive television services. The ‘HuiShitong’ smart interactive controller primarily provides users with a unified electronic programme guide, enabling convenient and swift access to services such as on-demand viewing, live broadcasts, catch-up television, and time-shifted viewing.

IPTV System Deployment

Bandwidth is primarily constrained by the number of programmes, their high/standard definition, the number of terminals, and multicast/unicast limitations, alongside the read/write performance of server hard disk I/O. Therefore, sufficient bandwidth between the server and core switch, along with the performance of the hard disk server array, must be ensured.

Backbone network bandwidth is mainly determined by the total bandwidth of the access network and the distribution constraints of the access points.

Platform network integration

The bandwidth of the access layer network is primarily constrained by the number of access terminals, programme resolution (high/standard definition), and whether multicast or unicast is employed.

Consequently, the platform employs server port aggregation, RAID5 disk arrays, and distributed server deployment to meet performance requirements. Core layer switches must utilise at least Gigabit or 10 Gigabit switches, with network deployment requiring Gigabit connectivity to floors or zones and 100 Mbps to terminals.

The system supports distributed deployment, enabling seamless expansion of storage capacity based on the operational demands of the system.

To fulfil the integrated management requirements of cruise ship operations and accommodate system scalability, the system facilitates unified platform integration with third-party interfaces. This encompasses connections to cruise accounting platforms, examination systems, information portals, and big data analytics platforms, offering multiple interface options including HTTP, Web Services, and SOAP.
