Connecting with Nature, Moving Forward in Unity: Huishi's Team-Building Retreat at Xixi Hot Springs, Hezhou

Beyond work, we need an opportunity to slow down and draw closer to one another.

Recently, the Huishi team visited Hezhou's Xixi Hot Spring Resort for a two-day team-building retreat. Amidst nature's rhythms and the cadence of daily life, we reconnected with one another and reaffirmed the significance of ‘walking hand in hand’.

Departing from the city, one ventures into the hills and wilderness, embracing nature.

Friday dawned as the wheels began to turn, the city gradually receding behind us. By noon, an authentic farmhouse feast swept away all traces of travel weariness. After lunch, we strolled beneath the thousand-year-old osmanthus trees that lined the surroundings. At Xixi Spring, the water bubbled and flowed, slowing our pace. In that moment, there were no job titles, no KPIs – only us, walking side by side.

If collaboration at work relies on professionalism, then this meal depended entirely on rapport and warmth.

Hui Shi's Master Chefs Make Their Grand Entrance

Some man the stove, some wash the vegetables, some season the dishes, and some handle the “logistical support”. There's no roster, yet everything runs smoothly; no orders are given, yet they seamlessly cover for one another.

Before long, a table laden with steaming dishes from ‘Hui Shi's Private Kitchen’ was formally unveiled. At that moment, we were reminded once more that work is not merely about exertion; it is a process of creating value and realising one's worth. When everyone finds fulfilment in their tasks, the generation of value flows naturally.

This is precisely the value that Huishi has always upheld: each fulfilling their role, mutually supporting one another, and working together towards a common outcome.

Villa Party Commences: Building Bonds Through Relaxation

As night fell, the lights came on in the villa, and the team's true moment of relaxation began.

After supper, at the karaoke venue, some selected familiar old tunes while others joined in impromptu harmonies; team-building games punctuated the evening, laughter rippling through the room in waves, the atmosphere relaxed and natural. With no work discussions and no role distinctions, this evening everyone simply savoured the pure joy of being together.

Subsequently, everyone stepped into the hot spring pool. Steam rose gently, and the weariness of the day gradually dissolved in the water, while the chatter grew softer and more subdued. In such moments of relaxation, the distance between them quietly diminished.

At midnight, returning to the villa, the lights were extinguished. That night, I slept with a particular sense of contentment.

We firmly believe that a truly powerful team not only gives its all at work but also knows how to rest well in life; it is by knowing how to relax that one can walk more steadily and go further.

The mountain wilderness at dawn is the finest way to begin.

The following morning, the group enjoyed free time. Some returned to soak in the hot springs, others swam leisurely in the heated pool, while others strolled through the hills and countryside, continuing to savour the tranquillity and serenity offered by the hot springs and their surroundings.

At midday, a group photograph drew a warm close to this team-building event. Though our brief gathering has ended, the bonds forged continue to strengthen. HuiShi will carry this shared understanding and trust forward, deepening our commitment to the industry and advancing steadily.

The significance of team-building activities has never been limited to mere “team-building”.”

For Huishi, team-building is not a mere formality, but an opportunity for the team to rediscover trust, connection and warmth beyond the workplace.

The road ahead stretches far, yet we remain confident: when a group of people are willing to cook together, play together, and relax together, they can certainly accomplish great things together. Our next goal beckons—let us set out side by side once more.
