Classic Case Study | Huishi Empowers Beijing Daxing Hospital with IPTV System, Enhancing Experiences for Medical Staff, Patients and Visitors, Elevating Healthcare Services to New Heights!

Dec 23, 2025

Against the backdrop of the nation's vigorous promotion of ‘smart hospital’ development, optimising patient experiences, enhancing healthcare efficiency, and breaking down information silos within hospitals through innovative technologies have become central themes for high-quality hospital advancement. Recently, leveraging its extensive expertise and outstanding technological capabilities in smart healthcare video solutions, Huishi has successfully partnered with Beijing Daxing District People's Hospital to deploy an IPTV interactive video system. This initiative supports the hospital in establishing a new ‘patient-centred’ smart healthcare service framework, creating a benchmark application for smart wards.

Project Positioning and Challenges: The Leap from Pain Points to Intelligence

Within traditional healthcare settings, patients and accompanying family members commonly experience emotional distress characterised by boredom, helplessness and anxiety, alongside persistent challenges such as a lack of medical knowledge and difficulties in accessing information.

For healthcare professionals, repetitive tasks are commonplace, psychological pressure is immense, and information silos exist between hospital systems, resulting in inefficient operations and constraints on service improvement.

Daxing District People's Hospital addresses these core challenges by establishing a unified, controllable and scalable platform that efficiently integrates live television broadcasts, hospital information, health education and entertainment services. This approach achieves: - A patient-centred environment that is comfortable and convenient; - Intelligent and streamlined management to deliver high-quality healthcare.

HuiShi's Solution: Integrating Services Through Software and Hardware

HuiShi undertook core responsibilities in this project, including detailed system design, software platform development, hardware deployment, and system integration. Adhering to the design principles of ‘moderately forward-looking, functionally practical, operationally stable, and economically sound’, we ensured the system possesses intelligent, secure, energy-efficient, and environmentally friendly characteristics.

一Soft and Hard: Comprehensive Deployment of the ‘Soft’ Upgrade for Hospital Television Platforms:The hospital IPTV system is an intelligent interactive video platform integrating information services, entertainment and leisure, educational communication, and brand display. It enables live television broadcasts, film on-demand services, hospital and departmental channels, hospital services, hospital publicity, and information dissemination.

Hardware upgrades for smart terminals:Deployment of 105 hardware terminal screens。We have deployed a total of 105 television information screens across cardiology and neurology wards, nursing stations, and public areas, ensuring that information and services reach patients and healthcare staff directly.

Breaking down information silos for future scalability This hospital IPTV system incorporates interfaces for integration with in-house systems such as HIS, bedside interaction systems, and nurse call systems. This lays a solid foundation for the hospital to overcome information silos and achieve multi-dimensional terminal connectivity in the future.

Core Feature Highlights: Innovative Applications of the Huishi IPTV System

The Huishi IPTV system delivers a transformative upgrade to the traditional ward television system at Daxing People's Hospital through five core functionalities:

Precision Health Education: Featuring dedicated departmental channels and on-demand management capabilities, this system enables individual departments to upload personalised, specialised health education videos, delivering tailored educational content through a “one department, one strategy” approach.

Social Media Live Streaming Synchronisation: Supports the real-time synchronisation of live streaming activities conducted by hospitals on external social media platforms (such as WeChat, Douyin, etc.) to the hospital's internal IPTV system. This enables the efficient integration and maximised dissemination of online and offline educational resources.

Intelligent Information Broadcasting: Supports unified mandatory broadcasts and scrolling ticker displays for emergency notifications, with the ability to manage patient viewing times (such as night-time rest reminders) to ensure the immediacy and controllability of information dissemination.

Enhancing patient experience: Providing access to hospital information, doctor schedules, specialist lectures and other enquiries, with future expansion to real-time access to laboratory results, fee schedules and similar services, effectively alleviating patient anxiety.

Robust backend management: The platform features multi-tiered permission management, remote terminal control, content moderation, and log statistics, ensuring secure, efficient, and convenient system operation.

Project Value and Outcomes: A Model of Smart Healthcare

The IPTV project at Beijing Daxing People's Hospital represents not merely a technological upgrade, but an elevation of healthcare service philosophy. Its value is multifaceted: Service Enhancement: Optimising medical service standards while effectively mitigating the risk of doctor-patient conflicts. Brand Building: Establishing an in-house television platform to enhance the hospital's brand image. Efficiency Enhancement: Reducing repetitive educational tasks for medical staff and improving hospital information management efficiency. Experience Optimisation: Alleviating patient anxiety, providing a comfortable and convenient inpatient environment, and achieving the service objective of ‘patient-centred care’.

The successful deployment of the IPTV intelligent interactive video system at Beijing Daxing People's Hospital has established a replicable and scalable benchmark application for establishing patient-centred smart wards within domestic hospitals of comparable standing.

Moving forward, Huishi will continue striving to deliver superior intelligent visual solutions, helping more healthcare institutions break down information barriers and achieve service upgrades, thereby advancing together towards high-quality development in the medical sector.
