[Hospital Case Study] A bedside interactive screen connecting patients and healthcare staff

Aug 08, 2026

HuiShi’s bedside interactive terminal has been installed at a hospital in South-East Guizhou

Recently, Huishi’s bedside interactive terminals were successfully deployed at a hospital in Qiandongnan, Guizhou, with 25 bedside interactive terminals installed across the hospital’s wards.

The project addresses practical needs such as inpatient care, communication between medical staff and patients, and ward information management. It utilises bedside interactive terminals to integrate functions including nurse call systems, patient information displays, nursing reminders, health education, hospital services and entertainment applications directly at the patient’s bedside.

This enables patients to access inpatient services more conveniently, whilst also helping healthcare staff improve the efficiency of ward information management and communication, thereby supporting the development of smart wards within hospitals.

A screen by the bedside, delivering services across multiple scenarios

In traditional wards, patients’ needs—such as consultations, nursing calls and enquiries—are often met through nurses’ rounds or face-to-face communication.

The Huishi bedside interactive terminal extends digital services to the patient’s bedside, connecting patients, healthcare staff and hospital information via a bedside screen.

Centralised Display of Ward Information Enhances the Convenience of Medical and Nursing Management

Homepage Display

This centralised display of ward-related information enables healthcare staff to quickly grasp the latest developments in the ward and keep abreast of patients’ conditions during handover or routine rounds.

Centralised Display of Patient Information

Patients and healthcare staff can view the information they need more intuitively, thereby reducing the need for repeated communication.

Patient details; Bed details; Nursing details; Relevant hospitalisation information

Nursing Information Alerts

For patients requiring special attention, healthcare staff can send relevant care reminders via the system

Special care instructions; Precautions; Key points to note

One-touch calling, seamless communication

During their hospital stay, patients can use the bedside communication terminal to raise a call if they feel unwell or require nursing care.

One-touch calling; voice communication; video calls

Transparency of information, so you know exactly where you stand

During their hospital stay, patients often need to be kept informed about their treatment and the costs involved.

Medical advice reminders; Test appointments; Medication information; Itemised bill; Relevant hospitalisation information

IPTV entertainment services to enrich the in-hospital experience

In addition to medical services, the Huishi bedside interactive terminal also incorporates the hospital’s IPTV functionality. During breaks between treatments, patients can watch:

High-definition live TV; on-demand films and TV programmes; news and current affairs

Health Education

Hospitals can publish targeted health education content tailored to the needs of different departments.

Information on the condition; rehabilitation guidance; points to note

View the list of charges

Patients can view their hospitalisation costs via the bedside interactive terminal. The breakdown of costs is presented in a more intuitive manner, enabling patients to keep track of their hospital expenses in a timely manner.

Satisfaction Survey

Patients can provide feedback on their inpatient care, helping the hospital to understand their needs and continuously improve ward services.

The Huishi bedside interactive terminal integrates functions such as audio-visual communication, information exchange, nursing services and smart ward applications, connecting patients, healthcare staff and hospital systems.

Through bedside terminals, patient care is extended from the nurses’ station to the patient’s bedside, making ward management more digital and information-driven.

Huishi continues to develop integrated audio-visual solutions for smart wards, tailored to the practical needs of hospitals, to help them enhance their digital service capabilities.
